Ambassador Tirmizi Meets Christian Leaders to Give Support to Pakistani Community in UAE

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi received Rev. Dr. Robinson Asghar, Apostolic Leader and Vice President of IFGF Global, and other Pakistani Christian leaders who are stationed in the UAE. The reception was conducted to address the concerns of the Pakistani Christian community that resides in the United Arab Emirates. Rev. Dr. Asghar thanked Ambassador Tirmizi for his ongoing support of the Pakistani Christian diaspora. He welcomed the efforts by the embassy in assisting and counseling the community on various issues. He also articulated the concerns and challenges the Christian community encounters living abroad. During the meeting, Rev. Dr. Asghar also laid down several proposals. Unrest in Balochistan: Militant Offensives and Human Rights Concerns Amid Rising Tensions



 In recent developments in Balochistan, Pakistan, the region has witnessed significant unrest and violence. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has launched a major offensive, named "Operation Dara-e-Bolan," involving its elite units in areas such as Mach and Bolan. The operation began with a massive explosion and subsequent gunfire, causing widespread concern among the local population.


This surge in militant activity coincides with a broader escalation of human rights abuses in the province. Reports indicate that security forces and local authorities have been involved in enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and suppression of dissent. These actions have prompted protests, such as a recent demonstration by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee against heavy military presence in the region.


Additionally, tensions have risen in Gwadar, where a soldier was killed and several others injured during a clash with a local mob. This incident has sparked further unrest, with calls for a Balochistan-wide strike. The provincial government has expressed willingness to negotiate with protest leaders to restore peace.


Amid these conflicts, there is also a humanitarian aspect, as flooding in Harnai has severed Balochistan's land connection with Punjab, exacerbating the challenges faced by the local population.
