Why Europe Must Tighten Oversight of Iranian Diplomatic Missions Now

The line separating conventional diplomacy from state-sponsored asymmetry has completely collapsed. Over the past several months, European security agencies have unravelled a disturbing pattern of surveillance, influence operations, and hybrid activity stretching across the heart of the continent. Most alarming of all is the evidence pointing toward the hubs facilitating these operations: formal embassies and diplomatic missions. For decades, the West treated Iranian state actions as a localized Middle Eastern problem. However, the recent weaponization of social media platforms by Iranian embassies -using coordinated satire, memes, and political trolling to mock international security threats and mask escalating aggression-unmasks a deeper institutional malaise. When official diplomatic channels are diverted to run deniable, grey-zone information campaigns and coordinate intimidation, it is no longer just bad diplomatic etiquette. It is a profound structural threat to European in...

TikToker Alina Amir Speaks Out on Viral ‘Leaked Video’ Calls It AI Fake and Offers Reward

Yo, Karachi peeps and all Pakistanis glued to social media! If you’re into TikTok trends and celeb drama like me, you’ve probably heard the buzz about Alina Amir’s so-called “leaked video.” Well, the star herself has come out swinging in a powerful Instagram reel, calling it all a big fat AI fake. As a local from Sindh who loves spotting deepfakes in our daily scroll, this story is a wake-up call for how tech can mess with real lives. Alina’s not backing down – she’s condemning the culprits, tagging big shots for action, and even putting up cash to catch the perp!

Alina Amir, the TikTok queen with over 2.2 million followers and 2.5 million on Insta, rose to fame with her spot-on mimics and fun reels. Remember her viral “Tum jo pills khati ho wo kya hai” bit? Epic! But last week, fake news exploded with claims of “Alina Amir ki video leak ho gayi hai.” She stayed mum for seven days, but then dropped this bombshell reel on Instagram, breaking her silence.

In the video, Alina looks straight into the camera, serious and determined, against a simple background no frills, just raw emotion. She explains how she ignored the rumors at first, but as they spread like wildfire on socials, she had to speak up. “I did not intend to address this matter publicly,” she says, but the fake AI video forced her hand. She slams the misuse of AI, saying it’s super easy to create and share bogus content that ruins reputations overnight.

Her message hits hard: “If you are going to upload or circulate content, it is your responsibility to confirm whether it is authentic or AI generated.” She highlights how this isn’t just a celeb issue  regular girls get hit worse, with fakes sent to families, causing massive trauma. Shoutout to her supportive fam, but what about others? In her caption, she calls it “harassment, this is a crime and this is digital violence. I will not stay silent.” She tags Punjab CM @maryamnawazofficial, @ccdpunjab, @ncciaofficial, @hinabutt_official, and @sohailzafarchattha, urging strict action against AI deepfakes before more lives are wrecked.

And the kicker? Alina’s offering a cash reward to anyone who helps ID the person behind the fake! “The person responsible must be punished so that they never think of doing this to another girl again,” she declares. Wrapping up strong: “It is 2026. No woman should feel compelled to remain silent. If you are speaking the truth, you should stand up for yourself without fear.”

More than 1 mln people evacuated from Pakistan's Punjab due to floods

Pakistan 's eastern towns of Chiniot and Hafizabad face a risk of catastrophic floods if an irrigation barrage crumbles on a major river upstream after heavy rains swelled it beyond capacity, officials warned on Thursday. Nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan are battling torrential monsoon rains that have unleashed flash floods , swelled rivers and filled dams, with 60 deaths this month in Indian Kashmir , and Pakistan's toll at 805 since late June. Any  flooding blamed on India stands to inflame relations between the archfoes, embroiled in a tense stand-off since a brief conflict in May that was their worst fighting in decades. The waters of the Chenab river in Pakistan's sprawling province of Punjab threatened to burst through a 3,300-foot (1,000-m) concrete barrage at Qadirabad that regulates flows, siphoning them into a canal irrigation network. "It is a crisis situation," said a technical expert at the National Disaster Management Authority ...

No Ban On Airing Imran's Speeches, Pemra Tells LHC

In a recent development, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) clarified to the Lahore High Court that there is no longer a ban on broadcasting former Prime Minister Imran Khan's speeches. This revelation came during the hearing of a petition filed by Imran, who had challenged Pemra's decision to prohibit satellite TV channels from airing his speeches and press talks. The initial ban was imposed swiftly after Imran criticized former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, accusing him of shielding current rulers in alleged corruption cases. Imran argued that Pemra's ban was fueled by vengeance, leading to a legal battle that spanned eight hearings. During the recent court session, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza stressed that Pemra should refrain from pressuring TV channels on the concerns raised by the petitioner. Surprisingly, Pemra's counsel, Haroon Duggal, stated unequivocally that there is no existing ban on broadcasting Imran Khan's speeches. This reso...
