Polish politicians react to GTA 6 delay, calling it a “huge scandal” in parliament

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will be delayed from its planned May 2026 release to November 19, 2026. Reports indicate that the game is complete, with developers focusing on polishing to ensure a launch without bugs or glitches, avoiding issues similar to Cyberpunk 2077.

The delay has attracted global attention and even entered political discussions in Poland. During a parliamentary session, Witold Tumanowicz, a member of the KWiN opposition party (Confederation Liberty and Independence), addressed the postponement.

He stated, “As part of my parliamentary statement, I wanted to inform you about a very disturbing matter. An hour ago, Rockstar Games announced that the release of GTA VI will be postponed until next year. This is a huge scandal.” Tumanowicz added, “Frankly, if people don’t take to the streets after something like this, I don’t know what will happen.”

Paweł Szrot of the Law and Justice Party acknowledged Tumanowicz’s remarks, saying, “I respect such statements, Representative,” and noted he hoped that the add-on for Bannerlord would not experience similar delays.

Despite the postponement, anticipation for GTA 6 remains high. The game’s first trailer has become the most viewed trailer on YouTube in under two years, surpassing Avengers: Infinity War, with nearly 269 million views. Fans continue to express excitement for the upcoming release, with discussions on forums and social media noting both the delay and the game’s anticipated quality.

Rockstar Games has emphasised that the additional development time is intended to meet player expectations and deliver the experience fans “expect and deserve.” The company’s approach highlights the focus on quality and stability ahead of the revised November 19, 2026 launch date.
