Multan Sultans Eliminated from HBL PSL 10

In a disappointing turn of events, Multan Sultans have been officially eliminated from the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 following a crushing defeat to Karachi Kings in their 20th match. The match took place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 1, 2025, where the Sultans faced a daunting target of 205 runs set by the Kings. Unfortunately, the Sultans' batting lineup crumbled under pressure, leading to their downfall in the tournament .

The Sultans' innings got off to a disastrous start when their captain, Mohammad Rizwan, was dismissed for a second-ball duck in the second over. This early loss set the tone for a challenging chase, as the team struggled to build momentum. The situation worsened when wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan fell shortly after, leaving the Sultans reeling at 3-2 [1]. Despite a brief resistance from Yasir Khan, who scored 26 runs off 17 balls, the team found themselves in dire straits at 34-3 within the powerplay.

Kamran Ghulam was the only player to provide some stability in the middle order, scoring 28 runs before being dismissed. The rest of the batting lineup failed to deliver, with Curtis Campher playing a pivotal role for Karachi Kings by taking crucial wickets, including that of Mohammad Nabi and Iftikhar Ahmed. The Sultans' innings quickly deteriorated, and they were left at a dismal 88-8 before eventually being bowled out for just 90 runs.

Earlier in the match, Karachi Kings had set a formidable target, thanks to aggressive batting from their openers, Tim Seifert and David Warner. The Kings capitalized on their strong start, with James Vince contributing significantly to the total by scoring an unbeaten 65 runs. The Kings finished their innings at an impressive 204-4, showcasing their dominance throughout the match.

The defeat marks a disappointing end to the Sultans' campaign in PSL 10, as they managed to secure only one win out of eight matches. This performance has raised concerns about the team's strategy and execution, prompting discussions about potential changes for future tournaments. The Sultans' elimination highlights the competitive nature of the PSL and the challenges faced by teams in maintaining consistent performance.

As the tournament progresses, the focus will shift to the remaining teams vying for playoff spots. The Sultans' exit serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of T20 cricket, where any team can face challenges regardless of their lineup or past performances. Fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how the Sultans regroup and plan for the next season, aiming to return stronger and more competitive.

UK passes controversial Rwanda deportation bill: What's next for asylum seekers?

The UK government has dealt a blow to human rights groups with the passing of its 'Safety of Rwanda' bill, but legal challenges still loom over the controversial policy to deport asylum seekers to the East African nation.   On Tuesday, parliament voted through legislation that designates Rwanda as a "safe" destination for asylum processing, allowing the deportation of anyone who enters Britain illegally to go ahead. The bill aims to override a previous Supreme Court ruling that found the policy unlawful. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has vowed the first deportation flights will take off within months, promising removals "come what may" over the summer. However, questions remain over whether the plan will achieve its stated goals or withstand intense legal scrutiny. Months of delays The Rwanda plan has faced a rocky road since it was first announced in April. The initial flight in June was grounded after an injunction from the European Court of Human Rights.  La...
