PTI Leaders Arrested Following Jalsa, Escalating Tensions

 


Several key leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were arrested following a recent political gathering (jalsa), heightening political tensions in Pakistan. Among those detained were Barrister Gohar Khan and Aamer Mehmood Kiani, both prominent PTI figures. The arrests occurred during late-night raids, as the government continues its crackdown on PTI leadership amid ongoing political turmoil.


The jalsa, which had drawn significant support, witnessed the participation of PTI leaders calling for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. After the rally, clashes erupted between PTI supporters and law enforcement, further prompting the arrests. This wave of detentions has stirred discontent among PTI supporters, who view it as part of a broader strategy to suppress political opposition.
