Today, a deadly clash erupted in Karachi’s Golimar area, leaving two people dead and nine others injured. The violence broke out between two rival groups who exchanged gunfire in the densely populated neighborhood. The situation escalated as angry members set vehicles on fire and blocked roads leading to Nazimabad from Lasbella.
The deceased, identified as Junaid (25) and Umair Sultan (18), succumbed to their injuries before reaching the hospital. The injured were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment. Police swiftly responded, deploying a large contingent to control the situation and prevent further violence. The roads were reopened to traffic after the clashes subsided.
The clashes reportedly began over the movement of a procession, although the exact reasons are still under investigation. Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has ordered strict action against those responsible, emphasizing that no one will be allowed to disrupt public order. Police are currently conducting further inquiries and have been instructed to apprehend the miscreants involved.
The situation in the area is now under control, but tensions remain high. Authorities have increased security to prevent any further outbreaks of violence.
This incident highlights the ongoing issues of lawlessness and violence in Karachi, particularly in areas like Golimar, which have seen similar conflicts in the past
