Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan reaffirmed his country's support for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on July 4, 2023, at a virtual summit organized by India, the SCO's rotating chairperson. The 23rd meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State this year featured important conversations about regional security, economic cooperation, and the organization's future course.


Shehbaz Sharif underlined Pakistan's commitment to the SCO, stressing the organization's function in promoting prosperity and stability in the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to the objectives and tenets of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), emphasizing the necessity of working together to address shared issues like environmental degradation, economic volatility, and terrorism. The Prime Minister also emphasized the possibility of improved member state collaboration in sectors including energy, trade, and technology.
