Peshawar University Announces Winter Holidays

  The University of Peshawar has officially announced its winter vacation schedule for the 2025–26 academic session. According to the notification, the university will remain closed from December 22, 2025, to January 3, 2026. During this period, all academic and administrative offices will be closed. However, the university has emphasized that all scheduled exams and tests will continue as planned, and students are advised to follow the existing academic timetable. University authorities stated that the winter break is part of the seasonal academic calendar and aims to give students and staff adequate time to rest and prepare for the upcoming term. Regular classes and administrative operations will resume on January 3, 2026.

Japan unveils new Digital Nomad Visa program



Karachi - Japan has announced plans to launch a new visa category aimed at attracting digital nomads and remote workers to live and work in the country. 


The Digital Nomad Visa program is scheduled to take effect from March 2024 and will provide an opportunity for eligible individuals to base themselves in Japan while maintaining existing remote employment overseas. 


Under the new rules, applicants must earn a minimum annual salary of approximately 67,000 USD. They will also be required to have private health insurance for the duration of their stay.


A key benefit of this visa is that holders will be allowed to bring their spouse and children with them to Japan. However, the initial visit will be limited to 6 months. Visa holders must then return home before reapplying to extend their stay.


Eligible nationalities have yet to be confirmed but it is hoped the program will welcome a diverse range of remote professionals from different countries and territories around the world. 


The launch of the Digital Nomad Visa reflects Japan's efforts to modernize its immigration policies for the new era of remote working. It seeks to tap into the growing flexibility of digital jobs and tap talent from overseas. 


For many remote workers, the chance to experience living in Japan while continuing their existing employment remotely is an exciting prospect. There is likely to be significant interest from the global digital nomad community in taking up this new opportunity.


The details will be watched closely as the program gets underway later this year. It could provide a template for other countries looking to attract more remote talent through visa reforms tailored for the digital age.
