NADRA Issues Advisory to Avoid Delays in CNIC Collection

  The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has advised citizens to collect their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) promptly after issuance. NADRA warned that identity cards remaining uncollected for more than three months are disposed of in accordance with policy. Citizens who fail to collect their CNICs must submit a new application and pay the prescribed fee to have the card reissued. Authorities urged applicants to collect their CNICs from the NADRA office as soon as the processing period is complete to avoid inconvenience. In a related advisory, NADRA also asked citizens to cancel the CNICs of deceased family members. The authority advised families to visit the nearest NADRA centre or use the Pak ID mobile app to update their family records

Gaza's Ongoing Struggle: Israel Signals Prolonged Conflict into 2024


In a New Year’s message, Israel’s military spokesman warns of continued warfare in Gaza throughout 2024, with heavy artillery strikes claiming at least 25 lives on New Year’s Day. The military plans to give some of the 300,000 reservists a break, emphasizing the need for preparation amid what they describe as “prolonged fighting.”

The conflict has left vast areas of Gaza in ruins, resulting in 21,822 casualties, mostly women and children. While Israel withdraws tanks from certain districts, signaling a potential shift in tactics, the fighting persists, leaving residents exhausted and displaced.

Efforts for a ceasefire continue as international mediators work on a three-phase plan, including renewable ceasefires, a release of prisoners, and ultimately an end to hostilities. Regional tensions rise with claims of intercepted ‘hostile aircraft’ launched from Syria towards Israel.

As the people of Gaza hope for improvement in 2024, the impact of this enduring conflict remains a pressing concern on the global stage.
