In a highly anticipated move, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif revealed his party’s election manifesto in Lahore, emphasizing its meticulous preparation and a commitment to full implementation if elected. The manifesto places a crucial focus on revitalizing the country’s economy.
Despite political setbacks, Nawaz Sharif expressed optimism, urging people to scrutinize the manifesto. The party promises “cheap and increased electricity,” with plans for a significant reduction in power bills, a substantial increase in electricity production, and a push towards 10,000MW solar energy.
PML-N vows to empower the youth by ensuring representation in national politics, reviving student unions, and promoting entrepreneurship through initiatives like the National Youth Scheme and funds for IT start-ups. The party envisions the establishment of Pakistan’s first sports university and numerous stadiums, alongside youth skills development programs.
On the foreign policy front, the PML-N pledges a “message of peace” to countries, including India, contingent on addressing the situation in India-occupied Kashmir. The manifesto also outlines goals for a secured water future, economic growth through exports, and a collaborative effort with overseas Pakistanis to “rebuild Pakistan together.”
Addressing concerns raised by rivals, including PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, the PML-N’s manifesto tackles issues such as combating violence against minorities, modernizing agriculture, women’s empowerment, and a new labor policy to protect workers’ rights.
As Pakistan approaches the February 8 polls, the unveiled manifesto provides voters with a comprehensive insight into the PML-N’s vision for the nation’s future.
