UAE Muslim tourism ranking 2026: Why digital wins

The latest Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2026 dropped a fascinating truth bomb on the tourism industry: the UAE secured an impressive sixth place globally. While some might focus purely on the numbers, the real story lies beneath the surface. In my view, the UAE Muslim tourism ranking 2026 is not just a victory of luxury hotels or transit ease; it is a definitive proof of concept that digital convenience and AI readiness are the new battlegrounds for global travel supremacy. Tourism is changing, and the Emirates is deliberately rewriting the playbook. Why the UAE Muslim tourism ranking 2026 is a digital wake-up call Securing a score of 75 and a spot in the elite "Trailblazers" category is a massive nod to the country's strategy. For years, destinations rested on having great physical infrastructure. But as the GMTI 2026 report reveals, international Muslim visitor arrivals are projected to hit 208 million this year. In my opinion, the UAE's ranking proves that ...

PTI Faces Election Symbol Crisis: What Led to the ECP's Decision?

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in the spotlight as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the party to conduct intra-party elections within a tight timeframe of 20 days to retain its symbol, the ‘bat.’ This decision follows a series of warnings and legal developments that have raised questions about the party’s adherence to election regulations. Let’s break down the key events leading up to this crucial verdict.

The Background:

In August, the ECP issued a final warning to PTI, emphasizing the need for intra-party elections to maintain eligibility for its election symbol. The elections were initially due on June 13, 2021, with a one-year extension granted. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, representing PTI, argued that elections took place before a constitutional amendment. However, the ECP contended that the constitution was amended on June 8, 2022, followed by intra-party polls on June 10, 2022.

Legal Battles Unfold:

In May 2022, the ECP issued a final notice, urging PTI to hold elections by June 13, 2022. PTI submitted an amended constitution, deemed insufficient by the electoral body. In October, the ECP reserved its verdict on a petition seeking to revoke PTI’s ‘bat’ symbol. PTI, in response, appealed for a detailed order, claiming a misunderstanding regarding the election date of June 9, 2022.

ECP’s Verdict:

The ECP, headed by a four-member commission, announced its decision, directing PTI to conduct intra-party elections within 20 days. The written verdict expressed dissatisfaction with PTI’s alleged failure to hold transparent and fair elections in accordance with its constitution.

Implications and Reactions:

The ECP’s directive carries symbolic consequences for PTI, as failure to comply may render the party ineligible for the ‘bat’ symbol in upcoming elections. PTI’s legal representative, Barrister Khan, expressed dissatisfaction with the verdict, citing concerns about incomplete documentation rather than adherence to the party’s constitution.

Conclusion:

The ECP’s decision to instruct PTI to conduct intra-party elections within a strict timeframe has significant implications for the party’s electoral future.

More than 1 mln people evacuated from Pakistan's Punjab due to floods

Pakistan 's eastern towns of Chiniot and Hafizabad face a risk of catastrophic floods if an irrigation barrage crumbles on a major river upstream after heavy rains swelled it beyond capacity, officials warned on Thursday. Nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan are battling torrential monsoon rains that have unleashed flash floods , swelled rivers and filled dams, with 60 deaths this month in Indian Kashmir , and Pakistan's toll at 805 since late June. Any  flooding blamed on India stands to inflame relations between the archfoes, embroiled in a tense stand-off since a brief conflict in May that was their worst fighting in decades. The waters of the Chenab river in Pakistan's sprawling province of Punjab threatened to burst through a 3,300-foot (1,000-m) concrete barrage at Qadirabad that regulates flows, siphoning them into a canal irrigation network. "It is a crisis situation," said a technical expert at the National Disaster Management Authority ...

Young Shaheens’ Campaign Starts on a Sour Note: England Beat Pakistan by 37 Runs in U19 World Cup Opener

Well, that wasn’t the start we were hoping for, was it? Our young guns stumbled right out of the gates at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Harare, losing to England by 37 runs on Friday. And honestly, it hurts a bit more because we know these boys have it in them. England posted 210 runs in their innings, and Pakistan could only manage 173 in response, getting bowled out with still a few overs to spare. The batting lineup just never really got going, and that’s putting it mildly. Bowlers Did Their Job, Batters Couldn’t Deliver Credit where it’s due our bowling attack did exactly what we asked of them. Ahmed Hussain was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/38, while Abdul Subhan chipped in with 2/24 . They restricted England to what looked like a very chaseable total on paper. Honestly, 210 should’ve been within reach for these lads. The problem? Our batting completely collapsed. Pakistan were staring at a massive defeat at 85 for 6 before skipper Farhan Yousaf decided to take matt...
