Muslims around the world are preparing to welcome the holy month of Ramadan after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the Ramadan moon on Wednesday. The first day of the holy month will fall on Thursday (tomorrow), according to the committee's chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
The announcement was made after a meeting of the committee at Peshawar's Eidgah, where separate meetings of the zonal and district Ruet-i-Hilal committees were also held. The committee received moon sighting testimonies from a number of places in the country, including Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Swabi, Qila Saifullah, and Mardan.
Ramadan is considered the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims observe fasting from dawn until sunset, perform charitable acts, and spend time in prayer and reflection. It is a time for spiritual growth, self-discipline, and increased devotion to God.
The announcement of the moon sighting is a significant event in the Islamic calendar as it marks the start of the holy month. Muslims across the globe eagerly anticipate the announcement and prepare for the month-long observance.
The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee is responsible for announcing the sighting of the moon in Pakistan, and its decision is followed by Muslims across the country. The committee considers the testimonies of witnesses and scientific calculations to determine the start of the month.
As Muslims prepare to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, they are reminded of the importance of reflecting on their spiritual growth, strengthening their faith, and spreading compassion and kindness to others. The month provides an opportunity for Muslims to strengthen their connection with God and deepen their understanding of Islam.
